A 5 video series walking you through the process of underpainting and second pass painting. This isn’t a class on how to paint a great still life, but more a class on indirect painting methods and how to think about your brushwork and value gradations. Pears are a great substitute for learning how to paint the figure and can teach you a lot about building subtle compact forms. This class will not teach you as much about colour mixing as my palette is not visible in these videos and my focus is much more on how to evaluate what you’re seeing accurately and handle that in paint.
Who These Videos Are For: This class is good for beginner painters, teaching you some of the technical aspects of oil painting, as well as how to pay attention to value and build more subtle gradations in paint to improve your other paintings.
Bonus: listen to my cat meow pitifully to inform me that I am the world’s worst human.
